Appeal for witnesses after attempted robbery

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Ladybrook Place yesterday evening.

The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed an attempted robbery in Mansfield last night,Tuesday 23 October 2012, when a man went into Costcutters in Ladybrook Place, threatened a shop assistant and demanded cash.

The suspect made off empty handed and left the scene in a nearby light-coloured car which was driven by another person. No one was injured in the incident which happened at about 8.55pm. The offender is described as white, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, of slim build and had his face covered.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicle.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 797 Tuesday 23 October, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
