Revised proposals for Parliamentary constituency boundaries published

The Boundary Commission for England has today (16 October) published its revised proposals for Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England.

The commission is the independent public body that is currently conducting the 2013 review of all Parliamentary constituency boundaries.

The review will introduce substantial changes as it reduces the number of constituencies in England from 533 to 502; and makes sure that each constituency contains a similar number of registered electors.

Under the commission's revised proposals, Mansfield retains the existing constituency boundary.

The consultation on the revised proposals is now open and the public is invited to have their say on them until 10 December.

The Boundary Commission proposals and details on how to respond to the consultation are on display at Mansfield Civic Centre and are also available on the Boundary Commission's website at: http://consultation.boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk/
