The final, which was free to attend and open to everyone, included an opening parade where children from each of the schools across the District carried their school's own Inspiring Mansfield Torch. There was a sports village, where people could have a go at games and activities and find out about how to join local sports clubs. There was also a climbing wall, inflatable football, Mansfield Town Football in the Community and BMX bikes.

Councillor Philip Shields said: "This was a fantastic event that really captured the spirit of the Olympics and has hopefully inspired the next generation of athletes. It was great to see so many children and their families enjoying themselves at the event, which brought the whole community together to celebrate being part of the Olympics. Due to the event's success, we hope to hold it again in the future."

The event started in primary schools in February and the semi-finals took place at local secondary schools between 18 and 26 June.

Inspiring Mansfield was organised by Mansfield District Council, the Mansfield Area Strategic Partnership, Nottinghamshire County Council, Vision West Notts, Sport Nottinghamshire and all schools within the District.
