Sounds of Scotland come to Mansfield

In celebration of Burns Night, visitors to Mansfield Market will get an authentic Scottish experience on Wednesday 25 January with the sounds of bagpipes and traditional Scottish food on sale.

A Scottish piper will be playing from 12.30 to 1.30pm and local food vendors will be serving traditional Burns Night food including haggis, tatties (mashed potatoes) and neeps (mashed turnips).

The event is part of a series of promotions planned in Mansfield town centre throughout the year to mark various worldwide events.

Nick Turner, Mansfield District Council's Town Centre Manger, said: "I'd encourage everyone to come along and enjoy an authentic Scottish experience. If you have never tried haggis before, this is a great chance to sample a traditional favourite."
